These waves of colorful stone are in a region of the Paria River Canyon known as the Vermillion Cliffs Recreation Area, part of which is known as Coyote Buttes. Within Coyote Buttes is an area that now has been given its own name - "The Wave" - due to the unique nature of the shapes, textures, and colors of sandstone found there. |
