Athens, Greece is famous for the Parthenon in the Acropolis and its many ancient ruins dating
back to the fifth century before Christ. In 2010, and continuing on into 2013, Athens suffers
from political unrest owing to their financial difficulties. When I arrived in September of 2010,
the rails were not operating, the buses were not running, and it was difficult to leave the airport,
this in a country that relies more heavily on tourism than any other source of income. This page
has photos of the Acropolis, the ancient Athens Agora, the Theatre of Herodus Atticus, and the Temple
of Hephaestus. Point to images to see enlargements or use the Slideshow feature.
