The stained glass windows of France stand in marked contrast to the stained glass of Spain. Many of the stained glass panels in the French cathedrals show images of imminent or ongoing brutality by soldiers with weapons. Many also show active scenes of presumed French life. There are images of people in their death bed, the carrying of caskets, crowds gathering around persons of position, etc. In contrast, the images portrayed in the Stained glass of Spain portray static images of the saints, the Virgin Mary, or Jesus.
