Joshua Tree National Park

Joshua Tree National Park in southern California extends over parts of two desert ecosystems – the lower elevation of the Colorado desert with its unique Cholla cacti in the eastern part, and the Mojave desert in the higher, western part that is famous for the Joshua Trees that thrive there. In addition to Joshua Trees and Cholla Cacti, Joshua Tree National Park is known for its large, rounded boulders and its beautiful sunsets. Joshua Tree National Park is also home to a couple of lush, green oases that seem to hide amongst rock boulders surrounded by arid desert.
