The city of Narbonne was founded in 115 BC. One of the city's main tourist attractions is the Cathedral of St. Just and St. Pasteur. Construction of the cathedral began in the late 1200's and continued well into the 1300's. It is one of the tallest and largest in France. Adjoining the cathedral is an attractive cloister. Ancient gargoyles adorn both the cloister and the exterior of the cathedral. Also, the cathedral is full of attractive art, including carved stone, carved wood, beautiful stained glass, and many tapestries. This slide show has photos of St. Just and St. Pasteur, the cloister, gargoyles, and much of the attractive art and stained glass within the Cathedral as well as images of the city streets and the Canal de la Rabine, which connects the city to the River Aude.
