Ribeauville, France was named after the Ribeaupierre family that built the three castles that
still look out over the town and surrounding countryside. The 13th century castles - St. Ulrich,
Haut-Ribeaupierre, and Girsberg - can be reached and
explored by a pleasant hike up the hillside. The town of Ribeauville is itself picturesque, still
containing some of the ancient fortifications that were built around it during medieval times.
