Photos of the Schedel Arboretum and Gardens in Ohio
The Schedel Arboretum and Gardens were originally the homes and gardens of Joseph
and Marie Schedel. The Schedels traveled extensively around the world to over
100 countries, bringing home the ideas that went into the design of the grounds
around their home. Prior to their deaths they established a foundation for the
preservation and maintenance of their property, which opened as the Schedel
Arboretum and Gardens in 1991. The 17 acres of immaculately maintained grounds
contain a wide variety of plant and tree species arranged into a number of themes
enhanced by a multitude of bronze statues. Some of the highlights of a tour of
the Gardens include a Bonsai Collection including specimens up to 60 years old,
the Japanese Gardens with stone carvings and waterfalls, the Rose Garden with over
80 varieties of roses, an Iris garden, and a water lily pond. More information
