These are photos of Snow Canyon State Park in St. George, Utah. The park offers a few very nice hikes through
reddish-orange sandstone hills and mountains, black lava rocks and boulders, and a few lava tube caves. The
park is located within about an hour of Zion National Park and makes a nice diversion for those that travel
frequently to this part of the U.S. This is a destination well worth a day (or more) of hiking to see.

Climbing to the top of the 'Petrified Dunes' in Snow Canyon is relatively easy. The sandstone is naturally layered providing
something like steps that can be chosen to wind one's way to the top.

The sandstone mountains in Snow Canyon gradually change from a deep reddish-orange to white as one travels further
north through the canyon.
