These are photos of Snow Canyon State Park in St. George, Utah. The park offers a few very nice hikes through reddish-orange sandstone hills and mountains, black lava rocks and boulders, and a few lava tube caves. The park is located within about an hour of Zion National Park and makes a nice diversion for those that travel frequently to this part of the U.S. This is a destination well worth a day of hiking to see. Care must be exercised when visiting the lava tube caves. Some have very deep holes that could easily be fallen into.

Some of the hiking trails are closed from the early spring until late fall, so if there are particular areas that you want to visit, be sure to plan your trip at the right time of the year.

There is one long stone arch in Snow Canyon, located on one of the trails that closes begining in early March.

Snow Canyon State Park in Utah also has lava tube caves that can be explored. Some drop vertically further than the eye can see into their darkness, so care in necessary.
