Photos of Morocco

Volubilis was first occupied by the Romans in the 3rd century BC. The fertile lands around Volubilis were used to raise grain which was exported to Rome. After the fall of the Roman empire, Volubilis continued to be inhabited until about the 18th century. The ruins of Volubilis are some of the best preserved of Roman ruins in northern Africa.
